Working reception at his parent's lab isn't ideal. He'd be half tempted to run away from their tyrannical rule if he wasn't so damn curious about what they're actually doing at this lab. Whenever Cyrus asks, they dodge the question or straight out lie to his face. He stopped asking, he had a plan to lower their guard by making them think he'd given up. He hadn't, he'd never. What he finds in that lab almost makes him regret ever wanting to find out. But he could never regret meeting someone so incredible as Juniper.

Cyrus is a lab assistant (read: unpaid intern) for his parent's lab. He didn't know exactly what kind of research they did, he apparently "didn't have enough clearance".

A lab experiment currently being held at Oleander Labs. She used to be human, she didn't used to have these fish-like traits, she used to be... normal.

A lab run by Cyrus' parents, Ruby and Mason Oleander. They parade themselves as a "gene research laboratory". In reality, they testing on humans and splicing human and animal DNA to make hybrids, with better senses and certain enhanced abilities.
