Mission 7
Introduction
As you fly closer to Laxion, any screens on the ship start to glitch and cut out. Occasionally you'll see something flash on the screen before its gone as the ship's programming tries to fight whatever is causing this. Coming into view now is a lush area of green, a dense forest with some kind of small temple-like structure here and there. Eventually you make it to what you assume to be the heart of the city, a larger scale version of the previous temples you've seen. The only difference is this one has a massive amount of wires crawling along its surface. Following the wire’s path, you also see screens projecting different kinds of advertisements with loud speakers reading them out.
[Neo] Neo, you'd know this is not how it looked when you left.
Malar's Disciples
Mostly disbanded but there's a few people left, none Neo recognized besides the leader, who looks a bit worse for wear. This new change the mayor enacted ruined their business because there's no customers anymore.
Lost and his group can help shed more light on what happened. Mayor made an announcement on the radio about a week and a half ago saying they'd be installing these “tvs” to better help our economy cause things have been running a bit dry recently and he said not to worry about it. And we thought it would only be like a few but he kept putting up more and more and [Lost kinda shutters a bit] When people would look at them they said their head felt all funny but they were able to pull themselves out of it and now… yeah… we decided to stick down here but resources are running thin right now and i dont know what the fuck im going to do.
Saturn Aftermath
After Saturn leaves, a bit of clarity starts to come to Alex’s eyes as he blinks rapidly and observes his surroundings. He still seems a bit out of it but conscious enough to process and speak. He grabs a drink from a cabinet and pours a glass before downing half. He says he has little to no memory of the past 2 weeks. The cube is an artifact that was given to him by a powerful warlock awhile ago. This city was ravaged by disease and economical struggles with no one wanting to trade on a blighted planet. They tried their best to cull the disease but nothing was working. They got a visit from someone named “Mercury” who gave them this cube and said it would help. And it did. The few diseased left made a full recovery and the economy was back and better than ever. But about 2 weeks ago it started to dim and crack. He says he tried to fix it and soon he became obsessed. It was all he could think about. Few days later he was approached by “Mercury” again and they said they could fix it so he listened. Next thing he knew he's here. He wasn't conscious most of the time but he got small snippets of memory. Something about more pieces and a key? I think they said 7 more. I don't know they rambled a lot its hard to parse through.
