Mission 14
Bellatrix's Cube Investigation
Attuning to the cube's magic and accepting the corruption, Bellatrix learned a lot about the cubes. Looking through the cracks of the broken cubes, they were able to see sigels carved into the inside of each cube, written in celestial:
Pristine: Oh Omne, lend me your light
Inflated: For I have found a great evil
The Living Blight: Omne, my protector, my savoir
Church of Sanity
The cadets travel to the heart of Sanity, where it all started, Satus; located on the planet Initium. Kol leads the group around for a tour through the church. Everyone is wearing the same black and purple robes with the tendril infinity symbol embroidered on it. You see various stained glass depictions of what you assume is the trench, alongside what looks like two sides, one light and one dark, fighting for space. At the very end of the tour, they look up and see a giant statue… of Saturn… The broken horn is more dramatized than what you've actually seen with your own eyes. It looks like half of it is missing. On either side, you see two stained glass pieces of Saturn but they're wearing black instead of white. Most Sanity memebers arn't even sure if Saturn is real or just a symbol for their struggles written on pages. Lastly, they hear about a group of extremists known as 'Purity', who want to wipe out the entire universe in the hopes of starting from scratch, free of the trench and corruption. (They're not very popular) As Kol leads the group out, he points out the closed-off manor that allegedly belonged to Saturn during their time of infamy. This is when Odith makes their appearance. They start by complaining about the source of that information and 'Time of infamy? That's ridiculous.'
Saturn's Manor
Heading up to Saturn's manor, it looks like it's been turned into a tourist attraction. In the foyer, they see paintings of a much younger Saturn and Mercury. However in every painting with Mercury, their fact is littered with small puncture holes. It looks like someone was playing with darts. Other miscellaneous things they find upstairs are a cat plush, ancient children's clothes that date around 4,000 years old, a shared bathroom between two bedrooms, and a bedroom completely full of mimics. The most important item they find is a journal in the office. It reads:
1. "Fuck you Mercury! fuck u fuck u fuck u. It was just a joke you're such an ass"
2. Various surprisinly well done doodles of saturn killing mercury included but not limited to throwing them into a pit of lava, drowning in the ocean, and putting them behind bars
3. Tally marks, pages and pages and pages of tally marks (~1000)
4. The last entry reads "Stars above why is it so bright"
Mission 16
Ancient Revival Rituals
Mercury explains to the group that there have been many types of revival rituals over the eons, but the one Saturn used is one of the oldest and crudest. Ceremonial daggers are typically used for many rituals, and in this particular one, are used to make sure the person is dead as well as used to channel magic to the body.
Mission 17
Cursed By Omne
Cursed by Omne is not very well known about and even less known how it works. There are some people born in the worst circumstances and are given something that makes them stand out and shunned. They bascially lost the lottery. Aurora is cursed by Omne and it's why her eyes are the way they are and why she was born into a community that wouldn't accept her.
Malvena
A dog-like creature that looks like statues when stationary. They were bred by the South to hunt those cursed by Omne, which a lot of people from North and West Guarra were. They were used in both war times on the battlefield and to patrol in South cities. When not activly hunting, they were known to stand as still as stone, waiting till they detected their next target.
Guarra
The East is known for their archiving and preserving their planets history. They try to stay as peaceful and out of the conflict as possible. Their colors are black and gold.
The North is known for their violence. They have an entire culture around wearing pure white clothes that turn red the more the person kills. The more red you have on your clothes, the more respected you are. The leaders of the Northern cities have clothes that are a very deep red. Their colors are white and red.
The West are known as enablers, specifically working with the North to antagonize the South (and sometimes the East). Aka they're this planets biggest rage baiters. Their colors are red and black.
The South are known as the 'least violent'. They deal in political wars and prefer a battle of wits and words then swords and bloodshed. They currently have an artifact that the North and West want but the South refuses to hand over. Their colors are white and gold.
This planet previously had a Ki-Rin protecting it, a magical entity that is in the same tier as the gods, but not technically considered one. For a reason that has been lost to time, the people revolted against the Ki-Rin and managed to successfully kill it. It's skeleton now lies in the center of the planet, separating it into two halves- North & East and South & West. All four sides want ownership of the entire skeleton but no one can make up their mind or compromise.
Duo Session: Cursed
The Blight
The blight originated from the trench. I don't have confirmation but I wouldn't put it past my sibling to make such a vile thing. The blight has stages, one through three. Starts with fatigue, black veins, brain fog, then sleep disruptions, tingling or burning in the limbs. Lastly, nerve damage and coughing up black ichor. We don't know much more beyond that. As for how it spreads, we honestly don't know much about how. It seems to have multiple ways of spreading. I've seen people with it, plants, animals. It doesn't make sense.
Blessed/Cursed by Omne
To be blessed by Omne means you were born in much more favorable circumstances. We don't know much on this "selection process". They're also known to be more curious and have a drive to discover. No doubt a way to get them to learn and explore Omne's expansive universe.
Cursed by Omne is the opposite. People born in terrible circumstances, typically having some kind of mark to ostracizes them.
Paradise Care
We'd gotten many reports on a Paradise Care but everyone we asked about it was tight lipped, had impaired memory, or was dead before we could ask. What we know is they were prescribing Obitine Latorex. We haven't tested it on anyone, stars knows how that would've gone, but based on the ingredients it's an incredibly powerful stimulant, specifically for someone's magic. That also so happens to speed up the blight someone has.
The Cubes
Mercury's eyebrow twitches. Yes the cube. We both know that someone was me let's not pretend otherwise. That cube was meant to curb and ultimately dispose of the blight on that planet. I haven't been there to see it myself — i doubt I'd even be welcomed— but I do know that it broke and so the blight came back. If it's broken i presume it's just sitting where ever they left it to be a useless hunk of metal though. A shame, it was hard to make. The cubes adjust and adapt to the environment to best help the planet. There's eight cubes on the eight planets in the Obitus Solar System.
